6 Catherine St, London WC2B, UKDrury Lane was designed by Benjamin Dean Wyatt and opened with a production of Hamlet in 1812. It was constructed after the older theatre was lost in a fire and it is the fourth theatre to stand on its site. Originally seating over 3,000 people (down from 3,600 in the previous building), a major interior remodel in 1922 reduced capacity to just under 2,000.
