The Primatial Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a High Gothic Roman Catholic church constructed in the 13th-century. It began construction in 1226 and was finally completed when the vaults of the central nave were added in 1493. The church was constructed on the remains of the city's old mosque, which in turn was constructed on the remains of an even older church.
