The King Edward Hotel was one of the first luxury hotels constructed in Toronto when it opened in 1903. It was designed by architects Henry Ives Cobb and E.J. Lennox and original featured 400 rooms, later expanding in 1922 to add an 18-storey tower with an additional 530 rooms and including the fashionable Crystal Ballroom at its top. After being closed for 38 years, the Crystal Ballroom was finally restored and opened in 2017.
