Hopper is transported to a remote Soviet prison where "Enzo" works in episode 4x02 “Chapter Two: Vecna's Curse”. Hopper prepares for his escape by practicing slipping out of his ankle chains in episode 4x03 “Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero”. Enzo chats with Hopper about the plan as they head out for another day of labor in episode 4x04 “Chapter Four: Dear Billy”.
