Hopper goes to the library with Officer Powell to perform some research in episode 1x03 “Chapter Three: Holly, Jolly”. Joyce and Hopper find Will trapped in the Upside Down version of the library in episode 1x08 “Chapter Eight: The Upside Down”. Dustin tries to check out a stack of books to help with his research into the creature but finds he already has too many books out in episode 2x03 “Chapter Three: The Pollywog”.
